The project is entitled “Building the capacity of Uzima to serve diverse racialized communities in Toronto and the GTA” and serves to enable Uzima to have an effective organizational structure with functioning key systems in place. The Board and staff will be equipped with knowledge in crucial areas like strategic planning, financial and human resource management.
The board and staff of Uzima will receive training in virtual communication, financial health and sustainability, and equity and diversity to better serve the needs racialized and other marginalized groups. Needs assessment surveys are carried out and townhall meetings to promote stronger partnerships, collaboration, and networking among various stakeholders.

The project entitled “Building Organizational Capacity In Advanced Technology for Effective Program Delivery” is funded by United Way Greater Toronto and seeks to enhance information technology skills for staff and volunteers at Uzima Women Relief Group International and providing of updated software and hardware technology.
The Community Services Recovery Fund is a collaboration between United Way Centraide Canada, Canadian Red Cross, and Community Foundations of Canada to provide funding to Community Service Organizations as they adapt to the long-term impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
