Fundraising Coordinator

12 months contract, part time (21 hours per week, 3 days)
$25 per hour

Uzima Women Relief Group International is a Charitable organization incorporated in Ontario with a mandate to support families and communities affected by poverty, war and disease domestically and internationally thus contributing to the global efforts to relieve poverty. Uzima conducts many projects for women, seniors, and youth within marginalized communities in Toronto in partnership with other agencies. Fundraising is the main source of income for the organization to finance its projects and reach its mission and objectives. Uzima is therefore looking for an experienced fundraising coordinator to strengthen its fundraising activities and raise more funds.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The fundraising coordinator will be supervised by the Finance Manager and Executive Director. This is a part-time, one-year contract position. The successful candidate will be an experienced fundraising coordinator, able to effectively multi-task on multiple assignments, and will manage a wide variety of fundraising options.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Work with Finance Manager in planning and administering the annual fundraising budget.
• Planning, developing and executing direct online and mail campaigns.
• Identifying and soliciting major gift prospects.
• Developing and managing efforts to identify, solicit, communicate, track and renew annual donors.
• Identifying sources and preparing proposals to government, corporations, foundations and private granting agencies.
• Planning, management and execution of all fundraising events including development and solicitation of corporate sponsorship and coordination of logistics
• Implementation of staff fundraising initiatives within Uzima with support from partners
• Development and distribution of collateral material such as Annual Report and ENewsletters
• Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications
• University degree in Commerce, Business administration, or related degree with excellent accounting knowledge
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the non-profit sector or in a similar role in any other establishment
• Demonstrated success and ability to plan and execute a fundraising campaigns or marketing events
• Excellent grant writing skills, evidence of success
• Ability to create and manage fundraising or marketing budgets
• Knowledge of online and direct mail campaigns
• Strong organizational communication, and time management skills
• Highly organized, computer, digital and social media proficiency
• Results oriented
• Bilingual in English and French an asset
• G Driver’s License and ownership of a vehicle an asset
• Willingness to learn new skills

Women Project Coordinator

Reports To
Program Manager

Renumeration
$25 per hour

Summary
The Women Project Coordinator is the primary point-person responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects that relate to black and racialized women within Toronto and the GTA. The person should be creative with ideas on how to work effectively with women on projects.

Requirements
• Post-Secondary Education in Project Coordination/Management, Business Management or related field. Degree an asset
• Minimum 2 years of direct work experience in project coordination/management in a Canadian nonprofit organization.
• Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods.
• Intuitive grasp of organizational structure to manage cross-departmental and cross-disciplinary resource allocation.
• Superb creation and facilitation of meetings, feedback sessions, and briefings to create consensus among stakeholders.
• Able to effectively communicate with all types of staff, including technical, professional, and senior management.
• Strong knowledge of financial management, technology management, and internal controls.
• Strong knowledge of Internet technologies, including MS office suites and social media handles
• Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
• Ability to create and edit project documents, materials, and presentations.
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines.
• Persuasive and motivating
• Bilingual (English and French) an asset
• Owning a car an asset.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Develop work plans for project activities, outputs, and outcomes
• Participate in creating reports and grant writing
• Outreach and recruitment of project participants
• Develop and implement strategies to support clients
• Conduct virtual and in-person workshops to educate participants
• Purchase and distribute supplies to participants in need
• Conduct basic accounting for the projects
• Maintain and grow active WhatsApp support groups for participants
• Collaborate with community groups and agencies for ongoing information sharing and expanded systems-level advocacy
• Process surveys and analyze survey results
• Support the creation of partnership agreements with community agencies
• Research, compile, and provide information to Uzima staff to assist in planning programs
• Other tasks as assigned depending on needs of the organization

Working Conditions
• 21 hours part time Work from Office.
• 12 Months fixed term with possibility of renewal
• Able to attend and conduct presentations.
